What you’ll do…    
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you'll design and develop electrical systems, creating technical drawings and documentation using CAD software. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, develop setting files, ETAP models, and support construction and testing phases. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this hybrid role involves working three days in the office and two days remotely, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and continuous improvement of design processes. The work location is flexible, with a focus on integrating electrical systems into larger projects and staying updated on industry trends.   
   
You’ll make an impact by:    
  • Designing Electrical Systems: Develop electrical schematics, layouts, and drawings using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software.
  • Component Selection: Choose appropriate electrical components such as transformers, circuit breakers, relays, and switches based on project requirements and specifications.
  • Circuit Design: Design and analyze electrical circuits to meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Power Distribution: Design power distribution systems for buildings, factories, or industrial equipment.
  • Testing and Validation: Support testing and simulations to ensure the performance, reliability, and safety of electrical designs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other engineers, designers, and stakeholders to integrate electrical systems into larger projects.
  • Documentation: Prepare technical documentation, including specifications, relay files, reports, and manuals.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues with electrical systems during development, testing, or operation.
  • Compliance: Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations, such as NEC (National Electrical Code) or IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) standards.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on advancements in electrical engineering technologies, tools, and best practices.

  • Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, methodologies, and project requirements.
What you’ll need:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: 7+ Years previous experience in EPC electrical design is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical) and electrical design tools. Familiarity with simulation software such as ETAP may be required.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, including circuit theory, power distribution, electromagnetics, and digital electronics.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., NEC, IEC, IEEE).
  • Physical requirements and working conditions:  Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry [files weighing up to 20 pounds]; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
