Residential Trash Truck Driver

HBSCO LLC (HBS Trash) is looking for a full-time CDL Driver with experience in operating a CMV (Waste industry experience preferred, but not required). The driver will service residential homes Monday - Friday (Occasional Saturdays). They will operate heavy-duty trucks and are responsible for the collection of residential home solid waste. Drivers will transport the material to a disposal, transfer, or recycle facility when load capacity is met. Drivers will need to safely maneuver vehicles and navigate congested roadways.

Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following tasks:

• Operates vehicle in accordance with HBSCO LLC Safety Rules, OSHA (Occupational and Safety Health Act) and DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements as well as all local, state and federal laws.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle and documents checks utilizing the standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report).
• Immediately reports all unsafe situations or service-related issues to Route Manager or Dispatcher.
• Attends and participates in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings as required by HBSCO LLC or directed by Route Manager.
• Works closely with Route Manager to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.
• Notifies Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injures, or property damage.
• Notifies Route Manager or Dispatcher of service interruptions including closed or impassable streets or alleyways, receptacles too heavy to service or potential safety hazards.
• Communicates customer requests to Dispatcher or Route Manager.
• Completely dumps all receptacles and leaves the customer’s location clean and free of debris.
• Follows route assignments as directed and completes end of day documentation and check out process.
• Performs all duties as scheduled by Route Manager or Dispatcher and assists other.

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of previous experience operating a CDL vehicle requiring a CDL or equivalent driving within the last 7 years.
• The applicant must be 21 years of age.
• Hold a current Class A or B Commercial 'Driver’s License with an air brake endorsement.
• Acceptable driving record required.
• Successfully complete a pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check, which will include previous employment check and motor vehicle record review.
• Must be knowledgeable in DOT inspections along with full knowledge/understanding in performance of pre/post trip requirements
• Have basic computer skills
• Must pass a drug test
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Able to work 50+ hours per week

Compensation:

• $23 - $32 Depending on experience
