Job Description

This position provides administrative support to the Children’s Services Specialists (CSS) within the Home Study and Post Release Services (HS/PRS) program. This position also maintains, reviews, and enters case data critical for reporting and trend analysis.

Contributes to the Bishops’ strategic plan for the Conference. Demonstrates willingness and ability to understand, respect and contribute to the USCCB mission and to fulfill job duties in accordance with its Catholic identity.

Continuing Responsibilities: (List from highest to lowest priority.)

•Assists with inputting of data entry and case documentation for cases as assigned to the CSS.

•Assists with release notifications of cases.

•Participates in weekly HS/PRS team and case staffing meetings as required; pulls data for meetings, as needed/requested.

•Assists with tracking case level trends for all HS/PRS referrals.

•Assists with required reports to funders, including quarterly reports and ad hoc reports.

•Participates in calls and trainings with federal funder as scheduled/needed.

•Keeps informed of complex mental health/trauma, medical, safety, and juvenile justice issues that impact unaccompanied children.

•Advises and assists with updates to programmatic materials such as reporting forms and internal policies and procedures.

•Liaises with external entities, including HS/PRS subrecipient network, as needed.

•Assists with internal and external transfer of cases due to capacity or service area.

•Assists with special projects or research.

General Responsibilities, Children’s Services

•Participate in weekly HS/PRS team, and case staffing meetings as required; pull referral and placement data for meetings.

•Remain knowledgeable of all federal government and USCCB/MRS guidelines, policies and procedures related to HS/PRS.

•Participates on MRS teams/workgroups as required.

•Other duties as assigned.

•Provides back-up coverage for Children’s Services Specialists and Program Specialist, as needed.

Level: Bachelor’s degree required. Extensive relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Major Field/Specialty: Social Work, Child Welfare, Case Management, Mental Health, Juvenile Justice or related field.

Foreign Language Requirement (if any): None required but Spanish desired.

Number of Years Required: minimum 3 years of experience working with database systems, handling confidential and sensitive information, and knowledge of unaccompanied, immigrant children preferred.
