Work Study Group Fitness Instructor
Position Description
BSU's Fitness Center is available to currently enrolled BSU students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
The Fitness Center's Group Fitness Instructor will plan, design, and instruct safe and effective group fitness programs for BSU students and employees in accordance with department policies.
Types of programs include, but are not limited to:
  • Zumba
  • Dance
  • Indoor Cycling
  • Circuit Training
  • Bootcamp
  • HIIT
  • Pilates
  • Indoor Rowing
  • Yoga
  • Aqua-aerobics
  • Some combination of any above

Programs will be located in either available indoor or outdoor spaces that could vary within or across semesters.
You may be asked to:
  • Check people into class
  • Move equipment into place
  • Clean equipment

Eligibility requirements:
  • Must be a Bridgewater State University undergraduate student registered for a minimum of six credits for the Fall 2026 semester.
  • Must have Work Study award in your financial aid package

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience as a group fitness instructor
  • Current certification in CPR/AED
  • First Aid certification
  • Group Fitness certification is preferred

  • Ability to lift up to 45lbs.
  • Must be physically able to instruct and or demonstrate a variety of exercises with little or no rest.
