Certified Nursing Assistant ($24/hr)

Temp to potential hire: 12-week assignment with potential for perm for right candidate
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7am-4pm.
Required to travel to people' homes and treat patient in facility as well - must be comfortable with driving in the area. Mileage is reimbursed. Please be sure to ask candidates what areas they would be comfortable in/within. 

MINIMUM TRAINING, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
1. Current, active Texas nurse aide certification (CNA) and TX CNA license. 
2. Currently listed in good standing on the Texas nurse aide/misconduct registry, with no finding against the aide relating to client abuse or neglect or misappropriation of client property, as verified through the Texas Department of Human Services (DHS).
3. Valid Texas driver’s license, auto liability insurance and safe driving record.
4. CPR certification.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Hospice or home health experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assists with personal hygiene--bathes, grooms (hair and nails), provides oral hygiene, checks skin integrity.
2. Provides peri-care and performs Foley care and maintenance.
3. Dresses patients.
4. Performs patient transfers, turns, etc. while ensuring safety of patient and self.
5. Takes vital signs and weights as directed.
6. Ambulates patients as appropriate and does range of motion exercise as directed.
7. May perform simple dressing changes as directed by the RN (i.e. non-sterile, non-surgical, and not greater than Stage 1 pressure ulcers).
8. Assists with medications that are ordinarily self-administered.
9. Provides care consistent with written instructions as outlined in patient’s care plan.
10. Demonstrates understanding and support in interactions with team members
11. Communicates with RN Case Manager and other team members as appropriate; reports changes in patient’s condition and needs.
12. Documents care in a timely manner, and in compliance with organization policies and procedures.
13. Obtains supplies and teaches use of medical supplies.
14. Uses and reinforces the RN’s teaching on use of equipment.
15. Checks equipment for safety and cleans equipment.
16. Changes linens.
17. Provides nutritional support, assists with feeding, light meal preparations and light housekeeping as indicated.
18. Other duties as assigned.
