Job Description

We are seeking a Telemetry RN to fulfill a 13 week contract. The RN will need to specialize in monitoring, reading and recording the outputs of an electrocardiogram which converts the heart’s electrical impulses into a visible and readable rhythm. They are trained to detect harmful changes in these readable rhythms and notify the doctor on duty. They also monitor essential signs such as oxygen level and blood pressure.

Must Haves:

BLS
Minimum 2 year of experience required
RN Tele experience required
Proof of Covid and Flu Vaccine

Travel Contract
*Estimated weekly gross pay= $2340 (w/ travel stipend included)
Nights available, 3x12-Hour

Unit Specific Details:
The unit is a mix of observation patients and patients who may be medically clear waiting for CM clearance for safe discharge planning.
Observation: TIA, Cardiac Observation, Post-procedure (biopsies, laparoscopic procedures, endo and IR procedures), mild CHF/COPD Exacerbations, and anemia works to name a few.
Length of Stay: For our observation patients we tend to see 24-48 hours but this can change depending on progression of plan of care.

Lines/Drains/Devices: Those that are common for Medical/Surgical Telemetry Units, nothing uncommon.
Oxygen: Nasal Cannula, Clinical Obs does not go higher than a midflow. Patients who are chronically on CPAP or BiPAP at night are allowed as long as they are not advancing past their home settings.
Drips: All of our Remote tele units can administer Heparin Drips, as well as non-titrating Cardizem and Amiodarone.
Ancillary Support: PCTs are staffed on the unit. We have a unit secretary that currently assist with items such as consults during the day. No night secretary. We have a 24/7 CMU where the remote tele patients are monitored.
Schedule: Every other weekend and every other major holiday.
Scrubs: Navy blue, white or any combination of the two colors.
Telemetry experience required - required to read/verify strips with each shift assessment and upon change in condition.
Oncology and hospice experience preferred as may float to the oncology unit as well as other med/surg tele units.
