Job Description

A Tire Service Mechanic is crucial in maintaining the safety and performance of vehicles by ensuring proper tire installation, maintenance, and repair. Their expertise contributes to the overall satisfaction of customers and the longevity of tires on various types of vehicles.

Essential Job Functions and Duties:

  • Tire Inspection and Diagnosis:
  • Inspect tires for wear, damage, and proper inflation.
  • Use diagnostic tools to identify tire-related issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Perform Roadside service.
  • Service Large Commercial truck and Construction equipment.
  • Tire Installation and Removal:
  • Mount and dismount tires on a variety of vehicles, including cars, trucks, and heavy equipment.
  • Ensure proper balancing and alignment of tires during installation.
  • Repair and Maintenance:
  • Perform tire repairs, including patching and plugging, to address punctures and other damage.
  • Rotate tires and recommend replacements when necessary.
  • Wheel Alignment:
  • Conduct wheel alignments to ensure proper tire wear and optimal vehicle handling.
  • Use alignment equipment and adjust angles as needed.
  • Customer Service:
  • Interact with customers to understand their tire-related concerns and provide professional recommendations.
  • Address inquiries, provide quotes, and explain services to customers.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Maintain an organized inventory of tires and related supplies.
  • Order new tires and materials as needed, keeping track of stock levels.
  • Equipment Maintenance:
  • Ensure that tire service equipment, such as tire changers and balancers, is properly maintained and calibrated.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or issues for timely repairs.
  • Safety Compliance:
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Follow proper procedures for handling and disposing of used tires.
  • Documentation:
  • Keep accurate records of tire services provided, including customer information, tire specifications, and service dates.
  • Complete service reports and documentation for billing purposes.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in tire service or automotive technology is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Tire Service Mechanic or in a related role.
