Staff Accountant

Job Summary: This position is 100% in office [not remote] The Staff Accountants will possess a strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles and expertise in financial review. Recent graduates with a solid accounting background from accredited universities are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial records and reports.

Job Responsibilities: Including but not limited to

• Conduct thorough reviews of financial statements, general ledgers, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

• Analyze financial data and trends to identify discrepancies, irregularities, and areas for improvement.

• Perform detailed reconciliations of accounts and investigate variances to ensure proper documentation and resolution.

• Manage the outsourced accounting team, providing guidance, training, and support. Lead the team on the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, including the preparation of financial statements and reports.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders including project managers, property managers, and hospitality teams to review financial transactions and provide insights. 

• Assist in the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts, providing commentary and analysis as needed.

• Assist on gathering documentations for year-end income tax filing and regulatory compliance reviews by providing accurate and timely financial information. 

• Perform impromptu projects as directed by management.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree and CPA certification, or being a CPA candidate, is a plus.

• Recent graduates with a strong accounting background from accredited universities are encouraged to apply.

• Progressive accounting experience, with a strong focus on financial review and analysis.

• Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.

• Experience in the real estate development industry, private equity investment, specialized in construction and development, property management, hospitality, or related sectors is preferred.

• Proficiency in accounting software such as Yardi, Sage, R365, and xtraCHEF, along with advanced Excel skills, is highly favorable.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with a keen attention to detail.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
