Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial Journeyman HVAC Installer to install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems in commercial buildings. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic, excellent technical skills, and a passion for delivering top-quality work. The Commercial Journeyman HVAC Installer will be responsible for installing new HVAC systems, troubleshooting and repairing existing systems, and ensuring that all work is completed in a timely and professional manner.
Key Responsibilities:
• Install new HVAC systems in commercial buildings, including rooftop units, split systems, and VRF systems
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and installation requirements for HVAC systems
• Perform calculations to determine the appropriate size and type of HVAC equipment needed for each project
• Use hand and power tools to assemble, install, and test HVAC equipment and components
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, including diagnosing and fixing electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration issues
• Conduct preventative maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency
• Follow all safety protocols and regulations while working on job sites
• Communicate with clients and project managers to provide updates on project progress and address any concerns or issues
• Keep accurate records of work performed, including time spent, materials used, and any issues encountered
• Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in HVAC technology
• Mentor and train apprentice HVAC installers as needed
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a recognized HVAC apprenticeship program or equivalent experience
• Valid HVAC Journeyman license
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial HVAC installation
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems and components, including electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration systems
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and in confined spaces
• Physical ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and work on ladders and rooftops
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Working Conditions:
The Commercial Journeyman HVAC Installer will work primarily on job sites in commercial buildings, with occasional work in the office for project planning and meetings. The work may involve working in confined spaces and on ladders and rooftops. The position may require working in varying weather conditions and may involve occasional overnight travel. The work schedule may vary, including weekends and evenings, depending on project deadlines and client needs.
