Maintenance Technician II

Reports To: Facilities Manager

Department: Maintenance

Job Summary: Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Technician’s position is primarily responsible for the maintenance and repair of the company’s equipment.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Not Applicable for this position.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Must possess all skills and abilities of a Level I mechanic.
• Must be responsible, with minimal or no supervision, to set up, change over, and tear down all production line equipment.
• Must be able to operate all production machinery.
• Must be able to handle all facets of repair to the plant, building, grounds, and production equipment.
• Must be efficient in completing Preventative Maintenance Work Orders using CMMS.
• Must be able to perform all assigned work load, with minimal or no supervision, maintenance and repairs on all conveyors, fillers, packaging, cheese, and other production equipment.
• Must be able to perform a thorough preventative maintenance analysis on any equipment utilized by this facility.
• Must possess a understanding of electricity (low and high voltage) and understand how to utilize a meter for testing and overall electrical troubleshooting. Rad electrical schematics, repair all electrical related issues.
• Must be able to run all types of conduits and wire size, work with the devices such as receptacles, electrical plugs, switches, sensors, PLC, HMI, Servo drives, and other control devices.
• Must be willing to work off shift hours, overtime and be on call as needed.
• Must have basic knowledge of the wastewater systems.
• Must be able to troubleshoot and repair HVAC, Chiller, Boiler, Sprinkler, Packaging, Filling, HTST and CIP systems.
• Basic math and measuring skills.
• Must be able to maintain and install plumbing fixtures and piping.
• Must be able to maintain and repair all building fixtures.
• Must be able to assist in the installation, operation, and maintenance of all new equipment.
• Must actively participate in training courses provided by Life Way Foods.
• Other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager/ Maintenance Supervisor.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to follow instructions, read and speak English
• Basic math and measurement skills

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
• Similar experience required for 2-3 years

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift 50lbs
• Strong physical endurance
• Ability to be on your feet for an 8-hour shift
• Ability to kneel and maneuver through plant equipment
