POSITION OVERVIEW

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Director's Office (DIRO) requires premier Scientific, Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) support services with responsive, performance-focused, responsible personnel. DARPA's goal for this task order is to meet the high-paced needs of DIRO, deliver business process innovations, provide value to the mission, increase flexibility to respond to changing DARPA requirements and reduce administrative burdens. The Government expects world-class customer service from highly qualified staff dedicated to developing, implementing, and maintaining efficient and effective services.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide analysis, assessment, and investigation of problems and failures and with identification of solution alternatives (e.g., management level review teams, program assessments, independent testing, validation and verification).
  • Technical advice, cost trade-offs, analysis, environmental related issues, process improvement efforts, operational or logistical supportability, reliability, availability, operational safety, suitability, and effectiveness, configuration management, organizational compliance with applicable governing documents, financial management, and training.
  • Provide support to project offices established to work on emerging technology efforts in response to operational or DoD needs.
  • DARPA onsite with up to 10% of work required to be done outside of normal working hours (nights and weekends) due to mission requirements
  • Travel up to 20% of the time

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Qualifications:

  • Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 12 + years of relevant experience and leadership responsibilities with Tech, Policy, Foreign Affairs/Intelligence Community (IC)/DoD
  • 3+ years working at a Government IC and/or DoD Agency responsible for scaling/transitioning technology for national security
  • 3+ years of congressional experience including as a deputy chief/chief of staff and/or legislative director responsible for developing and coordinating a staff on briefings on complex matters and other communications including and/or regarding on national critical technology needs, foreign affairs (adversarial capital), and deep stakeholder engagement with the IC/DoD communities, regional engagement, and industry, including the partnerships and alliance necessary for accelerating breakthrough capabilities for national and economic security
  • 1-2 years of experience working at a tech startup(s) in one of the key DoD critical technology areas with developing dual use technology for both IC/DoD and commercial markets including market dynamics, capital needs, government contracting, supply chain, and acquisition and commercial scaling challenges
  • Strategic communications expertise including experience managing the development and managing a team for the coordination of development of products such as congressional briefings on complex matters and congressional reports and responses that require concise, accurate analysis and communication strategy for a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with IC and DoD acquisition strategy
  • Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring team members to support both individual growth and organizational success

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree
  • Experience drafting various presentations for Agency leadership, external briefings, briefing materials, and decision-memorandum, with background and experience in developing draft materials on acquisition of and/or testing technology and roll-out strategy technology in another Government agency preferred.
