Accountant

Job Summary:

The Staff Accountant is an integral member of the accounting team, responsible for assisting in various financial tasks and ensuring the accuracy of financial records. They support the senior accountants and management in day-to-day accounting activities and help maintain compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· General Ledger Maintenance:

o Assist in maintaining the general ledger by recording transactions accurately and timely.

o Prepare journal entries and reconcile accounts as necessary.

o Ensure the accuracy of accounting records and adherence to accounting principles.

· Accounts Payable and Receivable:

o Process accounts payable invoices, verify coding, and ensuring timely payments.

o Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on outstanding invoices.

o Assist in the preparation of billing invoices and statements.

· Financial Reporting Support:

o Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.

o Compile and analyze financial data to support management decision-making.

o Provide support during month-end and year-end close processes.

· Budgeting and Forecasting Assistance:

o Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.

o Help track budgetary performance and provide variance analysis.

o Collaborate with team members to ensure accuracy and completeness of budget data.

· Bank Reconciliation:

o Reconcile banks statements and other financial accounts on a regular basis.

o Investigate and resolve discrepancies between bank records and accounting records.

· Tax and Compliance Support:

o Assist in tax preparation and compliance activities.

o Maintain documentation and records to support tax filings.

o Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations.

· Audit Assistance:

o Support internal and external audit processes by providing documentation and assistance as needed.

o Participate in audit testing and resolution of audit findings.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

· 1+ years of proven work experience in accounting or finance roles.

· Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

· Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.

· Proficiency in financial software applications (e.g., ERP systems, Microsoft, etc.) and familiarity with data visualization tools.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced environment

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
