Licensed Social Worker-Part Time

Bilingual: Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi

We are seeking a Part Time Social Worker bilingual in one of the following languages: Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, to join our team in our Nursing Facility to work on our dedicated Indian Cultural Unit. We want to speak with naturally caring, empathetic Social Workers who are focused on providing the best quality of life possible for every patient in their care with patience, courteousness and tactful interactions with residents, staff, family members and visitors.

Parker's Indian Cultural Unit is the first of its kind serving East and West Indian older adults living in Nassau and Queens. This dedicated Indian Cultural Unit provides specialized, culturally relevant care for Indian patients including activities, entertainment, food and staff fluent in Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi and Punjabi, dedicated to these patients and their needs.

This is a part-time position, with a primary schedule of: 10am-4pm Monday - Friday

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Director of Social Work, the Social Worker delivers appropriate social work services to assigned patients, residents, family members and significant others. The Social Worker is responsible for coordinating the discharge planning process, participating in interdisciplinary team meetings and quality improvement activities, as well as counseling and meeting the satisfaction of the patients, residents, family members and significant others.

What You'll Bring:

• Master's Degree in Social Work
• NYS Social Work License (LMSW or LCSW)
• Prior experience working in a nursing facility, rehab or hospital setting a plus
• Prior experience working with the geriatric population strongly preferred
• Strong communication skills, and an ability to work collaboratively across a variety of disciplines
• Bilingual in English and one of the following languages: Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati or Punjabi
• Fully Vaccinated against COVID-19
