Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a hospital or clinic setting. This position offers the opportunity to provide exceptional care to patients with complex conditions attributing to chronic pain. This position will require you to travel to multiple clinic sites within your region.
Job Duties
- At the beginning of each surgery day, check oxygen cylinders and other essential equipment
- Assists the Scrub Nurse with opening supplies for case
- Prepares patient for procedure by doing pre-op check list, pre-op vitals, assists anesthesiologist in starting IV and gives pre-op meds and takes patients to O.R. and hooks up patients to EKP monitor, BP monitor, oximeter and applies cautery ground pad if needed
- Responsible for helping to releive patient's apprehension before and during administration of IV sedation or anesthesia.
- Responsible for surgical prep of operative site and surrounding area
- Makes available instruments and supplies needed during the operation
- During local or IV sedation cases, records vital signs
- Counts sponges and needles and documents count
- Assists in transferring patient to Recovery Area
- Assists in cleaning of operating room after a case, when necessary
- Inventories and restocks supplies needed in operating room
- Updates Physician preference cards as needed
- Makes post-operative phone calls when requested
- Performs additional duties as directed by the Clinical Supervisor or surgeon to assist in the smooth operation of the Center and provision of quality care to the patients we serve
- Provide direct patient care based on the principles of evidence-based practice
- Perform and assist with procedures such as IV insertion and monitoring
- Administer medications and treatments following prescribed orders
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Educate patients and families on health management and disease prevention
- Implement care plans in accordance with hospital standards and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Valid RN license in the state of California
- At least 3 months of O.R. experience within the last 3 years
- Proficiency in utilizing various medical systems for documentation and patient care
- Experience in both hospital and clinic preferred
- Ability to perform IV insertions
- Self-directing, takes direction strong technical and organizational skills
- Ability to stand, reach or assist to transfer up to 50 pounds; ability to stand and/or walk 80-90% of an 8 hour day; visual and hearing acuity to perform job-related functions
