Nightforce Optics is looking for a Front-End Web Developer to join our creative Marketing team. The Front-End Web Developer is primarily responsible for implementing and building the consumer facing portion of Nightforce Optics web applications to translate company and customer needs into functional and appealing interactive applications. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for creating visually appealing, user-friendly web interfaces while ensuring accessibility and adherence to UI/UX best practices. This role will primarily focus on web development, UI/UX design, analytics implementation, ADA compliance, and reporting. The candidate should possess a strong understanding of front-end technologies, design principles, and a keen eye for detail.

What you will be doing: Essential Job Duties

  • Develop functional and appealing websites with a focus on usability and sustainability
  • Provide website maintenance and enhancements
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices including, but not limited to, the topics of front-end development, UI/UX design, ADA compliance, and web technologies.
  • Collaborate with back-end developers, to implement user-centric web interfaces that align with project goals.
  • Advise on requirements for website graphic design assets and translate assets into functional web features
  • Work closely with the graphic designer to assist with the creation of mockups in order to translate the designs and wireframes into high-quality, responsive, and ADA-compliant web pages.
  • Use a variety of programming languages (e.g. HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and frameworks (e.g. Angular JS, jQuery, Bootstrap) to produce, modify, and maintain user-friendly website user interfaces.
  • Ensure consistent and visually appealing UI/UX across different devices and browsers.
  • Responsible for testing the site, with a focus on user experience, during development for usability and to fix any bugs.
  • Conduct ADA compliance assessments using WCAG standards and implement necessary changes to ensure web content is accessible.
  • Generate regular reports on website performance metrics, user engagement, and ADA compliance status.

What we need to see: Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Computer Science or related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • At least 2 years of proven experience in front-end development.
  • High proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design principles.
  • Demonstrated experience with web analytics tools, such as Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager, and the ability to implement tags, events, or goals.
  • Familiarity with browser testing and debugging.
  • Familiarity with ADA compliance guidelines and best practices for web accessibility.
  • Ability to effectively communicate needs and requirements with stakeholders of different backgrounds.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

What we would love to see: Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Design, or a related field.
  • Experience working with front-end frameworks and libraries (e.g., React, Vue.js).
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Experience with Hotjar, Pardot, Ahrefs, or similar.
  • Knowledge of UI/UX design principles and tools (e.g., Adobe XD, Figma).
  • Understanding of SEO best practices and their impact on web development.
  • Previous experience in generating and interpreting web analytics reports.
  • Ability to optimize website performance for speed and efficiency.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to evolving technologies and industry trends.
  • Familiarity using agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Wrike, Trello).
