How You'll Make an Impact:
  • Assisting in the day-to-day management of the Applications Engineering team members and tasks
  • Training, Mentoring, Coaching and Reviewing the Applications Engineering Team and their work
  • Understand thoroughly customer requirements, specifications, and existing "pain points" to aid other AEs in winning solutions
  • Aid in the AE Teams efforts to define/develop cost-competitive, capable, technical solutions that meet internal and external customer requirements
  • Ensure the AE Team is applying practical conformance to JRA Applications Engineering corporate practices, procedures, and tools
  • Provide Cross Functional Team Support within Projects
  • Ensure conformance to "As Sold" Scope of Work
  • Similar Job Requirements to that of a Level IV AE with the additional requirements for Task and Team
  • Member Management as directed by the Applications Engineering Manager
  • Train, mentor, coach and review the Applications Engineering Team and their work with the goal of winning work profitably
  • Manage team member work prioritization, capacity tracking, quote status tracking, and initiating and leading quote kick-off meetings
  • Provide support to the cross functional team and applications engineering team
  • Support AE Manager with interviews, cost & concept reviews, assignments, process compliance, deadline management and leading department meetings
  • Supporting Account Managers by ensuring pain points and competitive advantages are identified and leveraged into the proposals
  • Support Account Managers by attending customer visits for key accounts
  • Facilitate concept brainstorming, leading docket review meetings
  • Ensure all outgoing proposals have a clearly defined scope which includes specifying machine buy-off requirements, identifying customer part requirements at project level, ensuring that the customer specifications have been reviewed, and that appropriate risks, assumptions and exceptions are properly addressed within the Proposal Document
  • Assisting in upper management approval meetings
  • Maintain assignment-specific AE related fields in company CRM (Salesforce)
  • Perform periodic personnel Performance Reviews
  • Dependent upon workload and needed support, the Lead AE may, at any time, assume the role of any lesser AE as times and circumstances dictate

What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering, business discipline, or equivalent experience calculated as two (2) years of relevant work experience for each year of academic study
  • Ten years of industry experience leading successful projects
  • Current or prior JR Automation experience, or experience in the automation industry is strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in all Applications Engineering processes
