Shipping & Receiving Supervisor

Summary: Under the general direction of the Production Supervisor, perform routine duties requiring medium/heavy lifting, medium/heavy carrying, medium/heavy push/pull, material handling, transportation, scheduling, data entry, etc.
Work Environment: 75% Physical Labor / 25% Clerical or Administrative
Schedule: 1st shift / Monday - Friday (7:30am-4:30pm)
Essential Functions:
- Oversee warehouse activities as they relate to the Logistics department.
- Leads and liaise with Logistics Coordinators and management
- Ensure the team is assembling packaging materials and packaging merchandise per instructions in preparation for shipment.
- Weighs pallet loads, prepares orders for loading/shipping, and secures pallets using wrapping equipment or other related equipment.
- Accurately count products; pack and prepare for shipping according to daily schedule.
- Assembles customer orders appropriately and attaches proper identification on shipments, indicating the correct delivery address for the destination of customer orders.
- Enter inventory data into ERP systems and load products onto trucks.
- Perform raw material blending duties according to the daily blending schedule.
- Move product from inventory to prepare for blending; move product to the assigned molding machine.
- Maintain warehouse and shipping area in a manner consistent with safety and housekeeping requirements.
- Coordinate transportation, review shipping schedule, schedule staff, and orchestrate deliveries to meet customer demand with little to no delay.
- Monitors warehouse capacity.
- Interview, select, and train warehouse personnel.
- Assist in resolving any discrepancies.
Qualifications:
- Two years of experience supervising/managing a team
- Strong Communication & Organizational skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Willingness to be cross-functional
- Must have forklift experience
- Ability to stand for long periods of hours
- High School diploma required
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of shipping / receiving practices and commercial shipping carriers (i.e. FedEx, UPS, etc.)
- Computer literate in Excel, database maintenance desirable
