JSG is seeking an experienced Environmental Project Manager, for a direct hire position in Canoga Park, CA.

** This is a non-IT Role **

** Must have CAC (Certified Asbestos Consultant) Certificate, CAC, CSST, **

Summary: Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated projects to ensure that goals or objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing building inspection and assessments as well as site surveillance and monitoring of hazardous waste sites by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project. Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of project and arranges assignment of project personnel. Confers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities and scope of authority.

Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.

Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems. Prepares project reports for client. Reviews daily paperwork and reports prepared by project personnel.

Interacts with the client and their hired staff throughout completion of the project. Sampling of suspect asbestos containing material. Sampling of suspect lead containing material. Conduct perimeter air sampling to ensure the safety of the public. Obtain wipe clearance samples once the contractor has completed lead abatement. Obtain air clearance samples once the contractor has completed asbestos abatement.

Perform containment inspections to verify that the contractor is in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Must stop work if not in compliance.

Monitor contractor work practices on daily basis to verify that the contractor is in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Must stop work of not in compliance.

Collect daily sign in sheets from the contractor on site as well as copies of proper certifications, medical paperwork and proof of insurance for all workers on site.

Responsible for logging samples taken on a chain of custody and dropping samples off to the lab. Maintains monitoring and field equipment.

Recommends control measure for exposure to hazardous materials or conditions. Maintains working knowledge of new developments in the industry and government regulations.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises employees in the Asbestos and Lead Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, directing work, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience: Asbestos - Must be a Certified Asbestos Consultant (CAC)

Lead - Bachelor's Degree and one year experience or and Associate of Arts Degree and two years related experience or a High School Diploma or equivalent and three years of related experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills: Possess knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CAC, CSST, Lead Monitor, Lead Inspector Assessor, NIOSH certified, current driver's licenses and auto insurance.

Written Communication - Writes clearly and informatively; Edits work for spelling and grammar; Able to read and interpret written information. Ability to read and translate blueprints.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
