Job Description

TLF’s Supply Chain Associate will be focused on meeting the demands of the Innovation & Design Department with a focus on identifying, qualifying, and expanding TLF’s cut and sew, textile, and trim vendors; while delivering target costs, and meeting the milestones and deadlines of the time and action calendar for all production initiatives. This role requires strong organizational, communication, negotiating skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

POSITION ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Including but not limited to the below):

Procurement Support:

  • Assist in the procurement process by preparing purchase orders, RFQs (Request for Quotation), and other procurement documents.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to track order status, confirm delivery dates, and resolve any issues related to orders.
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and update procurement databases/systems.

Inventory Management:

  • Assist in monitoring inventory levels and conducting regular inventory counts.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure accurate inventory records and timely replenishment of stock.
  • Identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory and collaborate with relevant teams to address inventory issues.

Logistics Coordination:

  • Support logistics activities such as coordinating shipments, scheduling pickups, and arranging transportation.
  • Assist in preparing shipping documents, customs paperwork, and export/import documentation as needed.
  • Track shipments and provide status updates to internal stakeholders.

Demand Planning and Forecasting:

  • Assist in analyzing demand forecasts and historical sales data to support demand planning activities.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to gather information on market trends, promotions, and new product launches.
  • Support the preparation of demand forecasts and inventory replenishment plans.

Supplier Relationship Management:

  • Assist in maintaining relationships with suppliers, including communication regarding orders, delivery schedules, and quality issues.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to address any performance issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in supplier evaluations and assessments as needed.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Compile data and generate reports related to supply chain performance, inventory levels, procurement metrics, sell through data, identifying slow movers, identifying fast movers for re-orders, and all related raw materials and finished goods forecasting to ensure production and sales demands are met on time and in accordance with the T/A (Critical Path Calendar) and
  • Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior supply chain professionals for decision-making.

Process Improvement:

  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline supply chain processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and optimization of supply chain activities.
  • Support the implementation of new systems or tools to improve supply chain visibility and performance.

 

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 3 years equivalent experience in overseas sourcing /manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 3 years in production, merchandising, purchasing, pricing/costing, development, and/or
  • Knowledge of product creation and how processes and events interact from product concept to delivery (development, tech, lab, production/manufacturing, and materials)
  • Experience establishing credible relationships with suppliers and employees with proven results
  • Advanced Excel & Google Sheets skills required
  • Extremely proficient in a PLM System
  • Highly proficient in Asana (or similar project management app)
  • Highly proficient in Netsuite ERP and Netsuite Warehouse Management Apps (or similar ERP and WMS apps)
  • Ability to work both independently and cooperatively with a diverse group of people
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and multi-tasking skills and exceptional follow-through
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and changing demands
  • Excellent negotiating skills and ability to resolve conflict
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate international teams
  • Proven written and verbal English communication skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of the apparel market segments and product lines
  • Responsible for having an in-depth understanding of fabrics
  • Clearly understands the development process and core supply chain strategies
  • Understanding of apparel cost structures across multiple products. Able to use this knowledge to negotiate price across global suppliers to analyze cost, suggest methods to reduce cost and achieve all margin goals
  • Knowledge of trade regulations, production cycle timeline, calendar management, fabric construction and manufacturing
  • Ability to analyze information, make decisions, and recommend actions to drive business results
  • Excels at time management and ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects
  • Ability to react and embrace change
  • Displays a positive attitude, high level of energy, and clear sense of urgency and direction
