SUMMARY

The Audio Visual Technician (“AVT”) provides or assists others in providing the Audio Visual (“AV”) equipment and technical support (“Services”) requested by ITA clients for their meetings and special events whenever and wherever need be. This is a hands-on position that requires the AVT to be self-motivated, professional and technically proficient in his/her work assignment at all times. The AVT does whatever is needed to ensure Services provided are flawless and strives to achieve and continuously improve both ITA Services and client satisfaction.

AVT DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following will vary depending upon AVT job level level

  • Warehouse duties including, but not limited to, general maintenance, pulling AV listed on work orders, loading and unloading trucks, delivery and pick-up.
  • Assisting others with AV setup and removal.
  • Tape down and dress all loose wiring and cable
  • Ensuring all AV is clean and fully operational.
  • Label any damaged or broken AV and communicate problems to manager/supervisor.
  • Set-up, operate and troubleshoot all AV/projection/lighting/conferencing equipment, devices, and systems.
  • Oversee the set-up of AV equipment for client meetings and special events.
  • Take ownership of client interaction at event and ensure satisfaction
  • Communicate any additions or deletions to manager/supervisor.
  • Assist and instruct clients regarding proper usage and operation of AV equipment.
  • Monitor equipment operation at appropriate intervals during meetings and special events.
  • Work with suppliers and vendors to affect repairs and/or maintain AV before, during and after use.
  • Engage with external suppliers.
  • Assist the sales in identifying client or prospect Services needs and venue specific information for upcoming meeting and special event opportunities.
  • Select the appropriate AV to execute client meetings and special events
  • Construct proposals for Services in R2 for client meetings and special events
  • Research new AV technology and recommend purchases to management
  • Develop and present additional concepts to enhance client meetings and special events
  • Train and support workplace associates who need assistance or to become proficient using AV technology.
  • The AVT must be willing or able to flex work hours to attend and support events outside of normal business hours.
  • Communicate professionally with clients
  • Other duties and responsibilities assigned AVT

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma, general education degree (GED) or technical school required. Three to five years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The ideal AVT will have at least 2 years combined experience and education working in live meeting and special events (corporate AV). Related experience (i.e. studio/sports/live music) is applicable.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and handle tools or controls. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, knell, crouch, and crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. Employee must regularly lift and/or move 50 lbs; frequently lift and/or move 100 lbs; and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 lbs.
