POSITION: Warehouse Operations Clerk

SUPERVISOR: Operations Manager

STATUS: Hourly/Non-Exempt

PAY RANGE: $17.50 - $18.25 Hourly

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Warehouse Operations Clerk is responsible for Warehouse/Operations documents, files, and reports, working with the Operations Manager, Production Supervisors, and the Director of Operations & Inventory Control to ensure all the clerical duties of the warehouse and FRP, including inputting orders, filing, and answering phones are handled expeditiously.


WHAT YOU’LL DO


Warehouse Order Support: Print out daily picking list and separate cooler/freezer. File all picking lists by time and day. Prepare daily log sheet of agencies that pick up orders. Keep a log on which orders were picked by which warehouse staff, time it took to pull orders and how many orders each staff member pulled daily. Maintain inventory, order pulling, weights, and trash records. Update records after every inward and outward movement of goods and submits weekly/ monthly reports to management. Notifies departments of shipping or receiving schedules and of any operations problems. Assist staff in creating a system for responding to requests for warehousing information. Confirm completion of orders and compliance with specified details. Prepares shipping reports, transfer sheets, destruction tags, and invoices for FRP. Prepares invoices for shipments to other food banks.


Clerical Duties: Maintain office supplies on hand and ensure timely replenishment. Work with staff to fulfill equipment and supplies requests from other departments, such as paper, water, meeting room supplies, etc. Prepare all check requests on warehouse purchase orders, ensuring correctness of invoice including verifying that all items have been received and that the amount is correct. Answer phones in the warehouse office and record messages as necessary. Coordinate between the office, warehousing and operations activities. Communicate with all concerned personnel. Maintain vacation and attendance calendars for warehouses. Files all destruction tags by month and day. Prepares daily activity sheet for Gleaning Room and FRP.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) environment is highly desired. Some experience with reporting systems, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures (SOP).

  • Good numeracy skills (will test); must possess a methodical approach to work.

  • Good analytical and interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to provide clear and concise instructions, both verbally and written.

  • Proficient computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office suite and Google suite

  • A high degree of integrity and attention to detail in all job functions.

  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the workforce.

  • Good eye-hand coordination for data entry, filing, etc.

  • May be scheduled to work at either facility in Los Angeles, CA, or the City of Industry, CA. May need to commute between Food Bank facilities in Los Angeles, CA, or the City of Industry, CA
