Position Summary

The Marketing Manager is responsible for assisting in creating and maintaining the highest, most positive and favorable image of Meadowood Napa Valley, Meadowood Spa, The Wine Center at Meadowood, Forum, Meadowood Club and Southbridge Napa Valley. As the Marketing Manager, you will play a key role in driving brand awareness, generating leads, and engaging customers through various marketing platforms. This role will play a critical role in leveraging data insights to optimize marketing campaigns. This role supports the Director of Sales & Marketing in all initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • In concert with the Director of Sales & Marketing, implement comprehensive marketing plans and strategies to support our positioning, attract and retain desired customers, and achieve revenue objectives.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and guest feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
  • Oversee the production of marketing collateral, including brochures, flyers, and digital advertisements, and ensure adherence to defined brand identity guidelines. Organize and maintain all current collateral materials for easy access by department leaders; work closely with all departments to maintain and revise collateral materials to ensure accuracy.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop promotional packages and campaigns to drive group and leisure bookings.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and key marketing alliances.

Digital Marketing

  • Manage overall online presence. Maintain the integrity and accuracy of Meadowood Napa Valley, Meadowood Club, Forum, The Wine Center, and Meadowood Spa’s listing across brand.com, affiliated partner sites, and third-party websites, such as:
  • Google, Apple, Relais & Châteaux, Forbes Travel Guide, Visit Napa Valley, WineCountry.com, TripAdvisor, Yelp, St. Helena Chamber of Commerce, and Yountville Chamber of Commerce.
  • Plan and execute digital marketing campaigns, including SEO/SEM, retargeting, and online advertising, to reach target audiences, achieve marketing objectives and maximize ROI. Monitor, measure, and report on digital marketing initiatives, campaign performance and website analytics.
  • Manage and maintain integrated third-party platforms, such as but not limited to, TrueTour, Way, and SevenRooms on Meadowood.com, to maximize purpose of informing guests, providing booking resource and encouraging sales.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to create compelling and visually appealing digital content.

Website Maintenance:

  • Manage content for meadowood.com and southbridgenapavalley.com to create a positive consumer experience and drive engagement and sales.
  • Work closely with Director of Content and Communications, Director of Sales & Marketing, and all departments to identify and implement imagry and content that supports the brand and promotes a positive consumer experience on property-managed websites.
  • Work closely with departments to ensure accuracy of all content.
  • Manage workflow with contracted website agencies in order to successfully initiate and implement new website content and maintain site functionality.

Marketing Email Communications:

  • Work closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing and Director of Content and Communications to produce and deploy a regular schedule of marketing email communications that align with the annual Sales & Marketing plan and property needs and objectives:
  • Produce and deploy messaging strategies through various platforms targeting reservation leads and past guests to drive bookings for all business units, including Forum, Meadowood Spa, The Wine Center, and Southbridge Napa Valley
  • Develop and implement digital marketing strategies to drive online traffic to the company website and generate leads, inquiries, and bookings.
  • Provide support to Meadowood Club communications initiatives.

CRM Analytics and Database Development

  • Develop and implement CRM strategies to increase customer acquisition, retention, and lifetime value.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define customer segmentation strategies and develop targeted marketing campaigns.
  • Design and implement customer journey mapping to improve customer experience and drive engagement.
  • Manage and optimize customer data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Utilize CRM tools and technologies to track customer interactions and measure campaign performance.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can be used to optimize marketing campaigns and drive business growth.
  • Work closely with the IT team to ensure the CRM system is properly integrated with other systems and platforms.

Sales & Marketing Budget Maintenance

  • Maintain the Sales & Marketing checkbook, working closely with Director of Sales & Marketing to ensure expenditures remain within approved annual budget.
  • Create and submit purchase orders and invoices to accounting department in a timely manner.
  • Attend weekly Operations Committee meeting, weekly Sales, Marketing and Communications meeting.

Knowledge of all departments and functions, as well as an ability to resolve customer concerns are essential. This role is guest- and client-facing, and, as a leader, this Marketing Manager role may be asked to perform operational duties, such as serving as Manager on Duty, assisting with guest needs and planning, and supporting the leadership team and colleagues.

The ability to forecast, establish, and meet defined goals, as well as budgetary analysis capabilities, are required.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS

In addition to performance of the above essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the manager based upon the requirements of the property.

  • Professionally represent Meadowood in community and at industry organizations and events.
  • Participate as team player with all departments.
  • Assist with reports and/or competition data collection.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

No direct reports: however, as a leader within Meadowood, this individual must lead by example with respect to their character, presentation, professionalism, and written and verbal communication skills.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Solid understanding of digital marketing concepts, trends, evolution, and best practices.
  • Experience with SEO/SEM, Google Analytics, and other digital marketing tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.).
  • Experience working on marketing platforms and e-communication tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or related field.
  • Proven work experience in CRM development and management, preferably in a B2B or B2C environment.
  • Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.) and marketing-automation tools.
  • Strong project-management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects of various scales simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Team-oriented.
  • Steady under pressure and in emergency situations.
  • Flexible, and able to work holidays, weekends, and overnights as needed.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related discipline.
  • wo to three (or more, preferred) years of Digital Marketing and Marketing Manager experience.
