Special Education Teacher

Bridgeline Staffing is currently seeking multiple contracted Special Education Teachers to join our team at a Special Education school in Newton, NH. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with students, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other school staff.

Qualifications:

- Certification in Special Education

- Participates in TCIS Training and is capable of implementing the physical restraint technique. Must be able to meet physical demands of position, (lifting, carrying, squatting, climbing, running, swimming and restraining students).

Responsibilities:

- Meets with and contributes to the education instruction team to help develop a holistic approach to both instruction and therapy efforts

- Responsible for the instructional program for the group of assigned students

- Contributes to the design and implementation if Individual Education Plans (IEP)

- Coordinate and assist the paraprofessionals in the delivery of academic/IEP services.

- Develops and maintains all pertinent records for the instructional program and the group of assigned students

- Attends all staffing meetings as may be appropriate

- Structures and maintains a nurturant and therapeutic environment which is conducive to learning

- Supports the implementation of the program philosophy

- Works with and assists other home, school, and community agencies in coordinating services needed by each assigned student

- Works in conjunction with the therapist/case manager to coordinate home/school/community related issues.

- Participates in all pertinent staff development activities unless excused by the Executive Director

- Develops and maintains an inventory record of all instructional supplies, materials, and equipment pertinent to his/her program

- Performs other such duties as may be required by the Program Director and/or the Executive Director
