Celebrate the Children School is pleased to announce that we have an anticipated opening for a full-time Information Technology Specialist beginning June 2024

Celebrate the Children is a well-respected, non-profit, state-approved private school for children with alternative learning styles that has provided quality education services to the community for twenty years. At Celebrate the Children, our Special Education Teachers are surrounded by staff who are caring, compassionate, and dedicated to our program philosophy.

The Information Technology Specialist oversees the installation and maintenance of networks, servers, systems, and programs to support administrative and instructional initiatives while assisting staff and students in integrating technology to support, enhance, and extend learning for students in grades K-12 and post-graduate.


Qualifications:

  • Collegiate or professional training in the Information Technology, Instructional Technology, and/or related fields

  • Minimum five years of related experience, experience in an educational environment highly preferred

  • Considerable (5 years) and current experience as a Technician on a medium to large-sized network of servers, desktop systems, and communications devices using current technologies.

  • Exceptional project management skills to oversee and maintain all aspects of school-wide technology, providing ongoing support to staff and students

  • Experience with Google Workspace, Windows 10/11, MacOS and iOS MDM, Chromebook management, and Ubiquiti networks. Familiarity with ADP, QuickBooks, RealTime, Access control systems, and asset management.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Network support (including backup, security management, user account management, e-mail systems including an e-mail web server, internet/intranet access, office systems, and applications support).

  • Supports server, network, and desktop hardware, software, and applications.

  • Performs technology needs analysis, information audits, and security awareness.

  • Rolls out hardware and software to ensure optimal deployment of resources.

  • Plans, implements, and supports the network and computing infrastructure plan.

  • Recommends solutions to Administration and supports the implementation/execution of small to medium-sized projects according to agreed-upon budgets and schedules.

  • Assists with technology planning through ongoing research. Required Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of both Windows and Mac desktop products.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of setting up remote access for users, including technologies such as VPN.

  • Demonstrated ability to administer a 150+ node network, including firewalls, network switches, and associated hardware/software.

  • Demonstrated ability to oversee and support networked printers and photocopiers.

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of current communications devices, protocols, and server and desktop technologies.

  • Comprehensive understanding of Internet technologies and their applications.

  • Comprehensive understanding of voice-related services like PBX, VOIP, and associated technologies.

  • Orientation and training of new staff, continued technical training to staff throughout the year.

  • Ability to negotiate hardware/software service and technical support contracts with vendors.

  • Ability to support the various school-wide technology projects, activities, and tasks simultaneously as directed by the Administration.

  • Facilitation and enhancement of technology-based management skills.

  • Highly developed verbal and written communication.

  • Ability to work towards implementing solutions in a high-paced environment.
