Junior Accountant

The junior accountant's duties include posting journal entries, updating financial statements, maintaining accounts receivable, recording monthly payroll, and preparing financial reports. The junior accountant is a key member of the SCORE finance team and will communicate daily with internal and external customers.

How You’ll Make a Difference

·         Assisting in accounts receivable including taking payments and banking checks, and acting as a liaison between our sales department in California and our accounts receivable department in Mexico.

·         Preparing journal entries and maintaining the general ledger– prepayments, accruals, etc

·         Preparing balance sheet reconciliations including bank reconciliations to ensure all entries are recorded correctly

·         Maintaining knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedure

·         Ad hoc reporting requests

·         Providing outside auditors with assistance

·         Performing other related duties as assigned

2. Exceptional attention to detail
3. At least 2+ years of accounting experience
4. Experience with JD Edwards, Hubble or Power BI is a plus
5. Experience with NetSuite is a plus
6. Bachelor's degree, ideally in business / accounting
7. Technical capacity (MS Office and Excel)
8. Experience in outdoor / action sports, or consumer goods is a plus
9. Ideally bi-lingual in English / Spanish
10.  Excellent time management and organizational skills
11. Excellent communication skills

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Physical Demands

The role is mainly sedentary; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bending or standing on a stool, as necessary.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, in-person at SCORE HQ

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Must be a US citizen or have a current work visa.
