As a High School Equivalency Teacher / Career Specialist in our Summit County office your will:

  • Accomplish young adult focused goals by assessing needs, developing youth's skills set, providing mentor-ship, instruction, re-mediating, monitoring, support, and tracking/documenting progress while promoting the goals of JOG and facilitating compliance to JOG's standards and objectives.
  • Deliver High School Equivalency Instruction.
  • Work collaboratively with all members of the JOG team to determine best practices for participants, collectively aid in barrier removal and goal achievement.

A Bachelor's degree is required. Teaching, Social Work, Human Resource Management, Career Development, Job Placement/Development, Employment and Vocational Counseling, Career Guidance, Vocational Education, Community Service Administration, and / or Work experience with private sector or disadvantaged youth.

Job Requirements:

  • Available for work hours scheduled 8:00 - 4:30.
  • Local, daytime travel occasionally required within a four county radius.
  • Computer skills including, but not limited to: MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Online database management systems.

* 42% are in further education (all post-secondary, credential/certificate, apprenticeship (JAG Standard 35%)
* 97% Connectivity rate, percent of participants JOG is able to contact post successful exit (JAG Standard 95%)
