Join our Team at family owned Basecamp Books & Bites! Located in downtown Roslyn, we are a bookstore, coffeeshop, gift store, restaurant, & full service bar all rolled into one with an amazing outdoor space that includes the Roslyn Yard.

All hourly employees are included in our Employee tip pool which on average adds an $6-$10 extra per hour bringing your base hourly pay to $22-$30/hr before tax. You MUST have weekend availability since weekends is when we are the busiest time for us.

Summary of Position: 

Provide timely, accurate and friendly service without becoming overwhelmed while meeting the customer’s needs. Keeping working areas clean and organized. Know specials, soups and 86ed items. Clean bus areas: retrieve dishes and take out trash.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Load, run and unload dish machine.

Monitor dish machine water temperature and chemical levels to ensure sanitary wash cycle.

Wash and store all tableware and kitchenware.

Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and kitchen.

Bag and haul dish room trash to dumpster as needed.

Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss.

Perform side work throughout each shift as required.

Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues to Kitchen Lead.

Be ready and willing to assist fellow employees as situations arise.

Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the leads or Owners.

Qualifications:

Be 14 years of age or older

No previous restaurant experience required.

Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests.

Have working knowledge of beer, wine and liquor and coffees.

Possess basic math skills and ability to handle money and operate a POS.

Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).

Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.

Must have exceptional grooming habits.

Valid Washington Food Handlers Permit and appropriate Mast permit per age.

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $16.28 - $17.00/hour.
