Direct Support Professional

Position: Direct Support Staff
Direct hire- $20/ hour (no benefits) - Anaheim- M - F 8:30AM - 3PM.

Founded in 1962, we are a non-profit organization serving adults with mild to severe developmental disabilities. We offer a variety of programs such as behavioral management, physical, and vocational therapies.

Temperament is key for this position; we are looking not only for your professional qualifications but also a level of caring and desire to be helpful and want to engage positively with the assigned individuals. You must have a friendly demeanor and have a compassionate attitude.

Your role is a key component in the success of progress and care objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:
* 3 year of experience in working with adults with developmental disabilities.
* Have the physical ability to lift over 25 lbs.
* Have the ability to develop rapport and trust with participants.
* Have the ability to work as a team member, make sound judgments and be able to establish positive interpersonal relationships with a broad range of people.
* Be comfortable with providing personal care support, such as feeding, assisting in using the restroom, and diaper changing. All of our participants require personal care assistance.
* Be responsible and reliable and work independently.

Requirements:

· Valid driver’s license, a vehicle with current registration & insurance

· Criminal Background Clearance and an acceptable driving history

· Physician's clearance and a TB test clearance.

· High School diploma or GED
