Genetic Counselor

As a Genetic Counselor, your main responsibilities will include providing genetic assessment, counseling, and follow-up services to patients and family members at high risk for genetic and exposure-related conditions. You will have the support and mentorship of our experienced Genetic Counseling staff and oversight from Clinical Geneticists. You will also have exciting opportunities to participate in growing programs with Cardiology, Neurology, as well as collaborate with the Genetics team at our Community Cancer Institute. The successful candidate will be self-motivated with a desire to work autonomously and the ability to thrive in our fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Experience and education minimum requirements:
• Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling.
• Successful graduation from an accredited program in genetic counseling approved by the American Council for Genetic Counseling (ACGC).

License and certification minimum requirements:
• Current CA Genetic Counselor license or temporary CA Genetic Counselor license.

• Must obtain certification as a Genetic Counselor through the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) within one year of hire.

Preferred qualifications:
• Ability to speak Spanish is a plus but is not required.
