QUALITY ASSURANCE ENGINEER

Summary of Position Mission

This position collaborates closely with manufacturing and product development to identify and resolve production and quality system deficiencies as well as assists with the development, review, and approval of process and equipment validation qualifications. Additionally manage the document control database for our QMS (Quality Management System) processes, including design, implementation and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in defining, developing, maintaining, and supporting various quality programs along with their performance measurements and reporting requirements
• Conduct and teach problem solving activities to address quality and process improvement opportunities
• Develop and maintain standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation
• Investigate product quality problems and determine root cause, gather and analyze data, and implement corrective actions to reduce or eliminate cause
• Perform process capability studies or special studies necessary to increase control and decrease total quality costs
• Plan and oversee the analysis, inspection, design and test of products to assure the quality of the parts and products
• Perform quality engineering review of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and Company quality records
• Utilizes test equipment such as Calipers, Micrometers, Rockwell Testers, Surface Plate, Optical Comparator and CMM
• Clear understanding of GD&T
• Support QMS (Quality Management System) including but not limited to design, implementation, maintenance.
• Work closely with manufacturing and warehouse supervisors supporting their quality inspection requirements
• Lead Century Arms Corrective Action Program
• Progressively improve upon and maintain acceptable production numbers in accordance with Company standards
• Complete all required paperwork timely and accurately
• Adhere to all employment policies/safety policies/practices required by law/established by Company
• Wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment as directed by Company at all times
• Immediately report any maintenance and/or safety issues to supervisor
• Maintain respect, courtesy, a positive attitude and professionalism towards all co-workers and the Company
• Actively participate and support the 5S process by maintaining a clean workstation and department
• Other duties assigned as required.

Qualifications & Knowledge Required

• BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering required
• 2 years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
• Excellent technical background with a track-record of problem solving and process development
• Experience in firearm production, tooling and machining highly preferred
• General knowledge of CAD and CMM software packages
• Experience with Master Cam, Catia V5 and Solid Works
