Heavy Civil Estimator

Hire Resolve is currently partnering with a leading company in Chandler, AZ to find a skilled individual to join the team as a Heavy Civil Estimator.

In this role, you will be responsible for preparing civil estimates for both Public Works Projects and Private Development Projects. We are looking for a candidate with the capability to create estimates for self-performing grading, paving, wet utilities, and/or concrete.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct accurate quantity take-offs.
• Utilize Heavy Bid software to set up bids.
• Review proposal specifications and drawings to ascertain scope of work and necessary contents for estimates.
• Interpret project plans and specifications proficiently.
• Generate material lists for assigned bids.
• Solicit quotes from subcontractors and suppliers and maintain correspondence.
• Analyze and input quotes in an organized manner.
• Compare and comprehend quotes from suppliers and subcontractors effectively.
• Assist the Estimating team with various tasks related to preparing estimates.
• Manage multiple projects and offer assistance as required with other estimating duties.
• Meet all deadlines with requisite documentation.
• Participate in continuous estimating training.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or equivalent technical training and/or experience.
• 3+ years of experience in estimating heavy civil projects, including grading, paving, concrete, and wet utilities.
• Familiarity with crew configurations and labor productions.
• Proficiency in estimating techniques, cost control, subcontractor solicitation, and material specifications.
• Understanding of municipal specifications and details.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs.
• Experience with Heavy Bid, Hard Dollar, On-Screen Takeoff, Agtek, or similar estimating software.
• Knowledge of project delivery methods such as Design-Bid-Build, Design-Bid, Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR), and Job Order Contracts (JOC).
• Familiarity with the Arizona heavy civil market is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Exceptional organizational skills.
• Effective time management and prioritization abilities to meet strict deadlines.
• Positive attitude and a collaborative team player mindset.
