Summary:
Provide technical / engineering support and expertise necessary to ensure continued success of the manufacturing departments as well as process optimization. Plans, designs, and optimizes various manufacturing processes.
This would be a great opportunity for a new college graduate to gain exposure in the automotive industry. The position will be involved with continuous improvement, project launch, quality control, safety, and a variety of engineering activities
Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in the safety program and promote a culture of “Safety First”
- Comply with all the Anchor Principles and Guidelines, as well as Anchor policies and procedures
- Evaluate existing manufacturing processes to identify and implement lean manufacturing techniques
- Utilize Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen concepts to devise new solutions to existing manufacturing problems and improve Safety, Quality, Productivity, Financial and Delivery metrics
- Oversee company Suggestion Program, including implementation of new ideas / processes / policies, tracking cost-savings, communicating feedback to the associates
- Analyze work force utilization, facility layout, and operational data such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment
- Perform Machine / Operator Cycle Time Analysis, Capacity Studies
- Create processes and procedures to help the company meet budgetary goals as well as performance metrics
- Assist in research, development, and application of stamping, welding and assembly systems
- Support in-plant technical staff with equipment installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Investigate failures involving welded components and/or where welding is considered a contributing factor
- Studies/analyses in depth and recommends appropriate corrective measures to prevent recurrence
- Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment
- Associate’s Degree in an Engineering field of study or 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing engineering
- Experience and proficiency with CAD programs preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify improvements and strong task-oriented skills to implement those improvements
- Basic understanding of Quality Assurance (Control Plans, PFMEAs, Flow Diagrams, GD&T / Print Reading, SPC, APQP, etc) is preferred
- Experience with automotive manufacturing is a plus
