We're seeking a Heavy Equipment Excavation Operator (Non-CDL) on our current sewer rehabilitation construction project in the Goose Creek, SC area. The ideal candidate knows the OSHA standards for trenching and excavation, adapts to changing conditions, and motivates the crew to install the pipe safely and correctly.

We are currently offering a limited-time sign-on bonus of $4,000 for new hires with a valid CDL license, and sign-on bonuses for new hires without a current CDL license are also available at a reduced amount. New employees who meet the criteria outlined in our sign-on bonus program will be eligible for the full payout.

The pay for this position is $25.00 - $27.00 per hour depending on experience. We offer 100% fully paid on-the-job training.

This role requires 100% Travel. Travel incentives we offer include a daily per diem and single-room motels. Additional project locations include Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama.

What You'll Do:

• Dig out pipe routes while communicating effectively with fellow construction crew members, discussing project details and coordinating tasks seamlessly.
• Operate excavation equipment, digging trenches of various depths and loading/unloading structures as needed.
• Assist pipelayers by signaling during pipe placement, applying your knowledge of pipe and utility access hole materials.
• Excavate routes for services, lateral lines, and utility hole installations with precision and care.
• Safety load dump trucks with excavation spoil and backfill.
• Grade or level trench bases using stone or backfill.
• Knowledge of operational maintenance and repairs of equipment used.
• Participate in safety meetings and follow company safety rules and policies.

What We Need from You:

• Valid Driver's License, good driving record and reliable method of transportation.
• Ability to travel extensively 100% of the time each week
• Completion of OSHA 10/OSHA 30 Course is a plus.
• Comfortable working in all weather conditions.
• Knowledgeable about OSHA standards, particularly in trenching and excavation, ensuring a secure work environment for all.
• Skilled in excavating safely around utilities like electric, gas, water, and communication lines, avoiding potential hazards.
• Proficient in installing trench shielding, shoring, and sloping techniques, ensuring the safety and stability of work sites.
