Construction Sheet Metal Installer

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The installation of ductwork and air handling equipment for the purpose of heating, cooling, and exhausting of buildings and machinery.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

• Demolition and installation of ductwork and equipment.
• Layout, detailing and assembly of duct systems including selection of materials and methods as required by the blueprints and project requirements and specifications.

REQUIREMENTS: skills, knowledge, education

• Requires the use of hand tools, such as tape measures, snips, hammers, saws and shears.
• Must be able to operate machinery including forklifts, plasma cutters and scissor lifts.
• Must be proficient at mathematics to an 8th grade level.
• Light -gauge welding of steel and stainless steel and knowledge of working with plastics and fiberglass are a necessity for anyone with 4 years’ experience or more.
• Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces.

The candidate must possess and be adaptable to the following physical abilities and working conditions:

• Ability to frequently lift or carry 20 to 50 pounds.
• Ability to assist with lifting or carrying up to 100 pounds when necessary.
• Physical requirements include standing, bending, squatting, sitting, kneeling, lying down, crawling, climbing, and driving.
• Typical working conditions include working on ladders, on rooftops, in crawl spaces, in unheated areas, and in all weather conditions.
• Must be capable of working ten to twelve-hour days when job/business needs demand.
• Must be able to work easily and skillfully with hands and fingers to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects and materials.

SALARY RANGE:

$23 -$42 per hour based on experience (FLSA Non-Exempt)
