Rochester Sensors, LLC is looking for a Full Time Manufacturing Engineer II to join the team in Coppell, TX!

YOU HAVE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related discipline.
  • 4+ years of related experience, or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • Intermediate to Expert knowledge with standard manufacturing software/equipment programming. (LabView, PLC, ERP, CAD, etc.).
  • Experienced with standard manufacturing software / equipment programming. (LabView, PLC, CAD, etc.).?
  • Good oral and written business communication skills. ?
  • Proficient in math and engineering skills including corrective actions, continuous improvement, pareto charts, and cost reductions. ?
  • Must be action oriented and a self-starter capable of setting and achieving personal goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for implementation of new products into production, the continuous improvement of process, efficiency, and released products, and the transition of production lines between facilities.

  • Safety, Quality, Productivity: Reviews, investigates, and facilitates “root cause” corrective actions for production issues. Establishes method of verification to assure corrective action was effective.
  • Responsible for maximizing efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization.
  • Coordinate projects, conduct time and cost analysis of processes, and recommend/execute capital expenditures to meet business initiatives.
  • May require the coaching and leading of Jr. Engineers and other personnel as directed.
  • Lead projects to improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout by employing lean methodologies
  • Identifies, initiates, and tracks cost reduction and yield improvement projects.
  • Analyzes and records test procedures and results, numerical and graphical data, and provides solutions based upon test results.
  • Sets up, conducts, or coordinates tests of components and completed units during manufacture and under operational conditions to investigate proposals for: A. Improvement of component or equipment performance. B. Data to be used for development. C. Improvement of manufacturing methods or techniques.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and cost justifies new equipment. Works with vendors of design/build/install vendors according to a Request for Proposal.
  • Participates in design reviews and makes input regarding design, compliance to customer requirements, and production feasibility.
  • Completes and periodically reviews process documentation for all new and current products. This includes but is not limited to: A. Process Specifications and Routings B. Test Requirements C. Process Controls D. Review of Bills of Materials for accuracy.
  • Designs, plans, and coordinates the fabrication and implementation of fixturing and equipment.
  • Plans, coordinates, and directs implementation of new products and processes into manufacturing.
  • Devises, fabricates, and assembles new or prototype assemblies or components for testing and/or determination of fitness for manufacture.
  • Studies and records time, motion, methods, and speed involved in performance of production operations to establish standard production rates and improve efficiencies.
  • Coordinates or completes Design of Experiments, Gauge R&R, and Capability Studies to assure equipment provided to manufacturing meets required standards.
  • Assists in the lay out of production lines to improve efficiencies.
  • Responsible for the review, tracking, and resolution of all returned goods or nonconformances.
  • Confers with Department Manager to implement plans and recommendations.
  • Serves on related committees and participates in meetings as required.
  • Actively supports the defined goals and objectives of the company.
  • Projects a professional, total-quality image in all aspects of this position.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or as judgment or necessity dictates.
  • Reviews and update work instructions. Learns our internal document control processes and procedures.

Some job stress due to required deadlines for specific projects. Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
