Independent Reset Merchandiser - Newark, NJ

L&R is the largest distributor and the 6th largest purchaser of cosmetics in the United States. We now distribute over 40,000 items (cosmetics, toys, school supplies, hosiery, hair accessories, OTC, HBA, and more) through 3 regional warehouse locations in Arkansas, New Jersey, and Nevada.

We are looking for reset merchandisers to service stores and do new item cut ins; resets; remodels, etc. The Merchandiser will be in charge of setting items to planogram; stocking the shelf; labeling and providing shelf tags when necessary. They will also be in charge of basic shelf maintenance including dusting and cleaning.

Retail Merchandiser - Reset & Merchandising

Store Locations: Newark, NJarea.

Must be open to travel to Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan if the need comes up.

Pay rate: Up to $19

Hours: Up to 29 hours weekly - Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Retail Merchandiser Essential Job Functions:

• Execute store resets according to provided planograms, ensuring compliance with company standards and guidelines.
• Organize products based on category, brand, and promotional requirements.
• Remove outdated or damaged merchandise and replace with new stock.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with store managers and staff.
• Communicate effectively to ensure understanding of reset objectives and timelines.
• Collaborate with store personnel to resolve any issues or concerns related to product organization and display.
• Clean, Dust, and Straighten Merchandise
• Maintain optimum shelf conditions and a safe working environment.
• Merchandising, Reading Planograms, Tagging/Labeling, Returns, Handle and Communicate Issues, and tablet or Completion Paperwork
• Communication with Reset personnel on a regular basis as well as Internal communication. This includes checking email/voice mail/INET on a regular basis to acknowledge/respond to company communication as well as constant communication with their Regional Managers
• Conduct Surveys and maintain shelf grid (Category Size) information for assigned accounts.

Retail Merchandiser Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D; previous merchandising or retail experience a plus
• Must have a valid driver's license with proof of Car Insurance
• Your own personal vehicle since you'll be driving to and from stores
• Computer or smartphone with internet connection
• Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Moderate physical activity, approximately 50 to 75% of time performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily product/technical nature and regularly lifting of items weighing up to 15-40 pounds. Position requires standing, walking, lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, etc. to unpack, transport, and to restock store shelves with merchandise.
