ABOUT YOU

You are a motivated individual with strong laboratory knowledge and skills looking to join our R&D team focused on developing new diagnostic products and assisting manufacturing with issues that may arise. You thrive in a fast-paced work environment where priorities and projects may change quickly. You are scientifically creative and can design and conduct new experimental methods and techniques while using appropriate controls. You have demonstrated skills in the diagnostic field (e.g., ELISA, lateral flow assay, immunoassays, etc.) and can work closely in a team environment, where you openly share ideas and collaborate.


Job duties will include:

  • Assisting in new product development and troubleshoot issues as needed.
  • Designing and performing experiments needed for all aspects of lateral flow assay development, including occasional ELISA experiments
  • Thinking innovatively with respect to research methods and product formulations to resolve problems
  • Analyzing and reporting results to colleagues and supervisors
  • Maintaining records of laboratory activities and notebooks in a professional and accurate manner

Required qualifications:

  • PhD or MS/MA in life sciences or a related field
  • Background in chemistry, biochemistry, physics, physical chemistry, materials science, bioengineering, biology, immunology or related field
  • Immunoassay experience (ELISA, lateral flow immunoassays, etc.)
  • Knowledge of scientific principals and concepts
  • Excellent organizational skills, record keeping, and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and have flexibility in design and experimental changes
  • Ability to interpret and communicate data
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with nanoparticles (e.g., gold and latex), including modification, conjugation, and characterization.
  • Experience with bioconjugation techniques as well as optimizing and troubleshooting receptor-ligand (e.g., antibody-antigen) interactions (specific and non-specific).
  • Biosensor experience (e.g., surface plasmon resonance (SPR), electrochemical, etc.) and associated analytical techniques.
  • BSL-2 experience

Work environment information

  • Position responsibilities include work in a Biosafety Level 2 lab (BSL-2) and a humidity-controlled environment.
  • This position requires an ability to lift up to 25lbs with assistance.

Wage/Benefits information

Position Salary Range: $70,000 - $100,000 (annual gross). Starting wage will depend upon relevant experience and qualifications of selected candidate.

Employees accrue 2-weeks of paid vacation per year and a total of eleven paid holidays throughout the year, which includes the holiday observance of winter break at year end (the workdays between Christmas Day and New Year's Day).
