The position is for a working, wastewater treatment plant builder field Supervisor who is responsible for the direction and management of field personnel for the performance of shop-fabricated and field-erected steel plate structures. Candidate should be experienced in all aspects of tank construction, inspection, repair, alteration, and reconstruction for welded steel tanks and systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
  • Take responsibility for the supervision of building tanks, setting equipment, and piping a fully functional wastewater treatment plant according to drawings and specifications.
  • Communicate regularly with Field Operations Manager for necessary guidance.
  • Maintain accurate office documentation.
  • Provide leadership to employees, contractors, and inspectors with respect to company policies and safety. Ability to manage 4-6+ employees.
  • Ensure project oversight, adherence to schedule and documentation during construction on behalf of Operation's projects. Promptly anticipate and report variances from drawings.
  • Notify project management about necessary corrections.
  • Be proactive in job safety for all personnel on-site. Perform quality Job Safety weekly meetings and help train and guide other employees.
  • Maintain company vehicle and equipment.
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested or required.
  • Be a working Supervisor willing to accept welding duties. Sets standards for behavior congruent with company ethics, morals, and expectations; demonstrates integrity in day-to-day tasks.
  • Must be able to read blueprints/drawings.
  • Ensures safety policies, procedures and applicable guidelines are properly followed; Enforce company expectations for all employees in regard to safety, quality, attitude, effort, employee relations and responsibility for self and others.


Requirements

Qualification/Requirements:
  • Proficient in welding and able to pass a certified welding test.
  • Ability to understand and implement Operations and Maintenance Procedures.
  • Ability to keep good job-required records.
  • Valid state driver operating license with a driving record insurable under company insurance policy.
  • Crane certifications are a plus, not required
  • CDL license a plus, not required

Education/Experience:
  • Formal Construction education and two years of field practical application or 5 years experience in this specific field of construction; preferably tank/plant erection, piping, and equipment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong listening skills. Ability to follow directions. Self-starter.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with personnel at all levels.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.

•Uses physical force to lift, push, pull and hold equipment/tools. Climbs and works at various heights using ladders and scaffolding.

•May work in a standing, sitting, crouched, or kneeling position.

•Routinely reacts to visual, aural, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work.

•Regularly bends, stoops, moves from ground level to higher levels, raises/lifts from ground level and loads up to 50 lbs., manually transports a load up to 75 lbs.

•Regularly gets into and out of vehicles.

•Candidates may be subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol testing requirements

•Subject to overtime and out-of-town projects. Must be able to travel within the State of Texas and out-of-state to be gone for periods up to 10 days and be responsible for a company credit card.

  • Works mostly outdoors, in and around mechanical, industrial, and electrical equipment.
  • Required to climb about equipment and work in confined areas (i.e. tanks, between compressors, vessels).
  • Subject to work in hazardous conditions including welding vapor, adverse weather conditions, and extreme temperatures.
  • Wears safety equipment (PPE) as required.
