What will you be doing in your role?

• You will provide English as a Second Language instruction to adult immigrants in person or remotely.
• Apply the knowledge of TESOL (teaching English to speakers of other languages) to the specific needs of the students in the class based on the group’s requirements Provide English as a Second Language instruction to adult immigrants.
• Provide civics instruction to adults preparing for their citizenship in person or remotely.
• Conduct intakes and enroll eligible students.
• Administer pre and post testing to determine English levels.
• Develop and/or utilize selected curriculum for both literate and preliterate adults.
• Conduct program services in a culturally sensitive manner.
• Demonstrates genuine compassion as engaging the students in their journey toward citizenship.
• Complete all necessary documentation to ensure compliance with funding requirements, and agency quality assurance standards.
• Develop a strong professional relationship with the whole ICS team and your colleagues in the Agency.

Are you the next ESL & Civics Instructor?

• TESOL or equivalent certification or one year’s experience teaching as principal instructor to adults in a structured setting.
• Access to powerful enough internet to handle teaching the classes remotely.
• Fluent in spoken Spanish strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with immigrant and refugee populations and their needs is a big plus.
• Must have good computer skills. Must be able to type and know how to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Must be willing to drive to in person class settings.
• Must be a Texas resident.
