Job Description
The Buyer/Planner performs the detailed planning and purchasing functions as part of an inventory management team and is accountable for the supply management for one or more assigned product lines. The position supports and works closely with warehousing operations, marketing, and sales. All purchasing functions are done in accordance with policies and guidelines set forth by Power Distributors.
Responsibilities
The Buyer/Planner will work with the Inventory Management Analyst to determine and establish optimal inventory levels based on forecast, demand variation and material lead times. This individual will also manage purchase orders, communicate delivery schedules, expedite material, process obsolescence, overstock returns and resolve payment issues. The position is also responsible for communicating supplier performance problems (sourcing, delivery, and quality) to the Vice President of Inventory Management and Planning. This individual must actively participate in inventory management best practices, follow procedures to create the most efficient management of inventories across our network, work with suppliers to realize all available rebates and meets inventory defined turns strategies. This position is also responsible for working with the receiving/inventory clerk and receiving the inventory into our ERP in a timely fashion.
Desired Skills
· BS/BA in Supply Chain, Business, or Logistics (preferred)
· Expert applied knowledge of forecasting, transportation, supply chain, inventory management and warehousing disciplines.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills; Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
· Strong analytical and financial skills
· Detail oriented with strong managerial, planning, organization, and project management skills.
· Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize.

· Strong working knowledge of inventory, financial, merchandising, and operating systems
· Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel-spreadsheets, macros, and pivot tables
· Net Suite experience a plus

We also distribute Oregon Equipment Parts, Oregon Cutting Systems, and several other allied parts lines.
