Radio Installer and Technician (2-Way Radio)

Communication Solutions is a Motorola Two-Way Radio Channel Partner that has been in business over 30 years. We supply customers all over the state with Radio Equipment and Systems to facilitate staff communication. We work with law enforcement, school districts and hospitals as well as construction, resorts and manufacturing plants. Our primary goal in every situation is customer satisfaction.

Communication Solutions is looking to hire a radio technician who has experience with installing and repairing radio systems. We deal with multiple radio brands including Motorola, Kenwood and EF Johnson. The ideal candidate will have experience installing repeater equipment including roof top antennas and transmission line. They will have experience tuning duplexers and programming equipment on site. The ideal candidate will also have experience installing mobile radios into customer vehicles neatly and efficiently. In shop radio repair experience is a plus. An experienced technician can troubleshoot issues in the field including repeater and line testing and power issues. Some travel around the state is required with an occasional overnight due to the vastness of our state.

Salary Range: Commensurate with Experience

Summary of responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can remain focused on the task at hand while most times working alone.

· Programming and installation of repeater equipment including roof top antennas at customers locations.

· Programming and installation of mobile radio equipment in customer vehicles including remote mounts.

· Programming and testing/trouble shooting radio equipment in the field

· Testing, tuning and repair of mobile and portable radios

· Use laptop computer, electronic tablet, and/or smartphone to document materials used, list tasks completed and manage installation photos

· Travel throughout the state of Colorado based on customer needs in a company vehicle. Lodging and meals are provided for any overnight stays.

Qualifications

● Experience with installation of electronics equipment into vehicles and businesses.

● Knowledge of Motorola’s R56 installation standards for base and site radio equipment.

● Ability to obtain State Certification for programming radios on the DTR radio network is desired (will require background check)

● Ability to perform lifting/pushing/pulling/carrying of material weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted

● Ability to squat, bend, crawl, reach and work in awkward positions, cramped spaces, elevated platforms, above ceilings, on roofs, etc.

● Ability to climb and work from ladders

● Unrestricted use of hands, arms, shoulders, upper/lower back, legs, visual acuity to include depth and color perception

● Demonstrate self-motivation, initiative, and the ability to interact, problem solve, and work well with others

● Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency

● Maintain a valid Colorado Driver’s License and good driving record

● A background check is required before employment. Additional background checks may be required based on installation location and customer requirements.

● High School Diploma or GED required
