VAD is currently seeking a Counter Associate at our Newport News, VA Branch.

General Summary

The role of Counter Associate is primarily responsible for managing internal relationships with customers, providing excellent customer service, processing orders and quotations, and promoting company products to generate increased sales. This is a primarily face to face position where the employee works with walk in and call in customers.

Responsibilities:

• Provide outstanding customer service in a wholesale distribution environment by answering incoming telephone calls and greeting walk in customers in a friendly, helpful, and professional manner
• Process orders and quotations using different methods and provide support to both the inside and outside sales teams
• Understand clients' needs and suggest appropriate products or services to achieve customer satisfaction
• Conduct physical inventory and maintain inventory accuracy and cleanliness of showroom
• Assist with picking and pulling orders from the warehouse
• Stay updated on market, trends, and developments in the industry
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Excellent attitude and commitment to superior customer service
• Excellent skills in planning, organization, and time management
• Strong sales abilities and persuasiveness to drive revenue growth
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Proactive initiative and resourcefulness to solve problems and seize opportunities
• Previous similar working experience, specifically in HVAC field with technical knowledge a plus
