Project Engineer (Substations)

We're on the lookout for an ambitious individual to join a prominent power engineering consultancy serving clients nationwide as a Project Engineer in their Denver office.

As a Project Engineer you'll be at the forefront of cutting-edge projects, playing a vital role in the planning and execution process. Your responsibilities will include electrical and physical drafting and design for a variety of substations, ranging from 4 kV to 500 kV.

In addition to your design duties, you'll collaborate closely with the Project Manager, coordinating with clients and stakeholders, and providing guidance and mentorship to our design team. You'll ensure project quality and efficiency, overseeing a range of specialists from various disciplines including Distribution Studies, Transmission Studies, Civil Engineering, and more.

Your role will involve managing the entire design process, from conceptualization to final execution, including procurement specifications and construction support. You'll be expected to deliver top-notch design studies, calculations, drawings, and specifications across multiple engineering fields.

To qualify for this role, you should hold:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
• PE license (preferred)
• At least 6 years of project and design engineering experience, or a combination of education and experience that meets our standards.
• Excellent communication, organization, and planning skills are essential, as is the ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.

We're looking for someone with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work on tight deadlines. Advanced knowledge of power engineering principles and relevant codes and standards is a must. You should also demonstrate integrity, discretion with confidential information, and the ability to make independent judgments.
