Shop Utility Assistant - Clinton Engineering

CEC is currently seeking a Shop Utility Assistant based in Clinton, Iowa.

The Shop Utility Assistant is responsible for assisting Foremen with various steps in the fabrication process and helping to maintain the cleanliness and safety of the shop. This could include various shop tasks including operating a fork truck, moving materials, setting up or operating various equipment, assisting with assembly, and other shop tasks. 

In addition to helping in our shop, the Shop Utility Assistant will also complete some construction tasks on our job sites around the Gateway area.  This could include assisting field crews with job site set-up, traveling to job sites to deliver materials, and actually assisting with project work such as concrete work. Training will be provided for any on-the-job site responsibilities

Some welding experience is preferred for this position. Foremen will assist with training; there will be a particular focus on Mig and Stick welding. 

This position works Monday to Friday from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm each day, with the option for overtime.

• Ability to follow both written, oral or diagram instructions and be able to effectively problem-solve.

Candidates must possess a high school diploma, valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical and background check.
