As a Merchandise Sales Consultant, you will play a key role in providing exceptional customer service and helping customers find the products that best meet their needs. Your goal is to achieve sales targets while ensuring a positive shopping experience for every customer. You will also be responsible for maintaining store appearance, keeping merchandise organized and stocked, and contributing to a cohesive team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner, understanding their needs and providing recommendations and product knowledge.
- Sales: Drive sales by promoting merchandise, offering upselling opportunities, and closing sales transactions effectively.
- Product Knowledge: Maintain a thorough understanding of the products you are selling, including features, benefits, and pricing, in order to provide informed advice to customers.
- Visual Merchandising: Keep the sales floor visually appealing and organized, following company standards for displays and presentation.
- Inventory Management: Assist with receiving shipments, restocking products, and ensuring inventory levels are maintained and accurately recorded.
- Sales Performance: Meet and exceed individual and team sales goals, and actively work to improve performance.
- Customer Relations: Handle customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism and diplomacy, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Cash Handling: Accurately process sales transactions, including cash, credit, and returns, while following company policies and procedures.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to create a positive and productive work environment, and support colleagues as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in retail management or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in retail sales, customer service, or a similar role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of retail sales techniques and customer service practices.
- Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer skills.
