We are proud to share that Publishing.com has been recognized as the 19th fastest-growing private company in America on the Inc. 5000 list for 2023! Our mission is to become the premier, one-stop destination for all publishing-related needs. In line with this vision, we have launched our latest innovation, Publishing.ai, a software designed to further revolutionize the publishing industry. This marks a significant milestone in our journey toward achieving our goal as we continue to expand our offerings and support our community of authors and publishers.

About The Role

Publishing.com is seeking an experienced, dynamic Lead Product Manager to own our newest software product. You will be guiding our Design, Research, Eng, and Analytics teams, optimizing all execution-related processes, and shipping new features at a fast clip. As a pivotal member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for reshaping our product practices, enhancing team coordination, and ensuring your product surface is strategically aligned with Publishing.com’s business goals.

Responsibilities
  • Ship high-quality products that users love (engage and retain our users).
  • Evaluate and revamp existing product processes, and constantly iterate and optimize them to meet the needs of the team.
  • Develop and maintain a clear Product Roadmap based on strategic business goals, prioritizing features that drive significant business leverage.
  • Deliver hands-on leadership by writing tickets, crafting PRDs, and directly engaging with users to ensure a thorough understanding of the publishing process and user needs.
  • Implement effective product scope definitions to minimize revisions and ensure that deliverables meet initial specifications before engineering begins.
  • Foster a culture of feedback, accountability, speed, and quality, where the product team is motivated and clear on deadlines and expectations.
  • Lead rapid prototyping and MVP strategies to quickly validate ideas and adjust plans based on feedback from both internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation and tracking of all product development activities to keep all team members updated on project statuses and deliverables.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with C-suite executives to ensure product strategy and business strategy are in sync.
  • Utilize a clear framework for decision-making that adapts to the needs of the team and projects, rather than imposing restrictive processes.
  • Oversee and optimize the work of a fully remote team, ensuring effective collaboration, communication, and time management across different time zones.
  • Monitor product performance and key technical metrics, conduct feasibility assessments, and identify opportunities for optimization and scalability

Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in product with substantial exposure to SaaS product development and delivery.
  • Proven track record of leading product teams and delivering successful outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and drive teams towards achieving high standards and tight deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a knack for practical innovation and a focus on delivering business value.
  • Capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication skills, proficient in translating complex product knowledge and strategies across various teams including engineering, design, and executive leadership.
  • Prior experience in a remote work environment and managing cross-cultural teams.
  • Familiarity with AI technologies and their application in product development, particularly in areas such as natural language processing or machine learning management systems (LLMS).
  • Strong preference for a technical background requiring close partnership with engineering teams.
