Salary:

The Opportunity Center-Easter Seals in Anniston Alabama is a contractor with SourceAmerica, Inc. for a federal set-aside janitorial contract with the Anniston Army Depot. We are an employer of disabled workers to perform janitorial duties, and we have been in onperation for over 20 years. As a Supervisor for the Janitorial staff, it is his/her responsibility to ensure all employees are properly trained on janitorial standards required to perform tasks as outlined. The position of Janitorial Supervisor is a highly trustworthy position responsible for providing direct oversight to the performance of work as defined by the individual contract requirements. 

           

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Maintain effective communication with the Customer (Point of Contact), with Human Resources staff, Case Managers responsible for clients and with Contract Manager.
  2. Assign work and monitor its performance within shifts or sites to assure that all contract requirements are met; that all policies and procedures are adhered to, and that all objectives are met.
  3. Train employees in proper techniques for the efficient, safe and quality performance of their job(s).
  4. Quality control requires regular written on-site inspections conducted with employee and/or customer.
  5. Monitors staffing levels to satisfy Scope of Work while remaining within targeted labor hours.
  6. Maintain adequate inventory levels of supplies always required for successful performance of the contract.
  7. Requires satisfactory working knowledge in all major areas of building maintenance, including restroom sanitation, office cleaning, carpet care, hard floor care, equipment operation and maintenance, chemical knowledge, MSDS and safety.
  8. May be required to attend scheduled training sessions conducted by the Division Operations Manager and/or Quality Control/Training Manager.
  9. Ability to fill out clear, legible written reports, payroll records, quality control inspections, Purchase Order request, employee evaluations, inventory reports, safety and other forms as needed.
  10. Expertise to communicate basic cleaning tasks in a simple format to line workers.
  11. Ability to read, comprehend, and implement the Scope of Work for a contract and communicate that knowledge to workers.
  12. Capacity to substitute for other Site Supervisor on short notice.
  13. Other duties as directed by the Project Manager.


KNOWLEDGE:       

Position requires a moderate level of communication skills related to training line workers, as well as relating positively to workers.  A high school diploma (or GED) is required.  On the job experience will be favorably considered.  Requires high standards and the ability to correct deficiencies in a timely manner.  The goal should be a constant improvement in overall performance at each contract while operating within budget guidelines.

 

EXPERIENCE:        

Requires a minimum of three years successfully operating in a similar capacity with six months of supervisory (assistant supervisor) experience.

 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is for the most part performed in an indoor climate of average daily seasonal temperatures. Outside work is subject to varying seasonal temperature. Employees may be exposed to odors, chemicals, product spills, dust, loosened wax or water.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position will supervise custodial employees.
