Job Title: Storage Lead
SUMMARY: The Storage Lead will supervise the unloading, storing, and shipping of redried tobacco in an efficient and timely manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Supervise the day-to-day activities of designated workforce and assigned resources:
? Responsible for shipping to and receiving tobacco from various locations and being accountable for all loads received and shipped.
? Inspections - Prepare packages for inspections as required.
? Product Verification/Integrity - Ensure proper labeling and that relabeling is complete and correct prior to shipment
? Shipping Documentation - Verify bills of lading and ensure accuracy
- Plan, organize, schedule, and direct employees to ensure maximum productivity.
? Daily work plans to fully utilize personnel and equipment
? Coordinates with storage manager to avoid congestion of storage and fully utilize space.
? Responsible for maintaining good housekeeping in all storages.
? Develop Load planning on a weekly/daily basis, in season, of 3rd party shipments from holding room
? Develop load planning of Chamber and House fumigations based on customer requirements/Management’s direction.
- ? Responsible for Adherence to Company Policies as relates to Resource Management
? Responsible for safety and compliance with plant rules and regulations.
? Promote and ensure good housekeeping and safety practices are adhered to in the departments on all shifts, at all locations
? Ensure all required records and reports for the department are accurately maintained.
? Maintain an appropriate level of well-trained personnel to staff operations.
? Ensure compliance with union contract and ensure all employee related issues in the department are properly handled.
? Ensure all equipment and property overseen by the department, at all locations, is properly cleaned and maintained.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Education and certifications, experience and skills required)
? Good written and verbal communication skills.
? Good overall knowledge of forklifts, scales, trucks, etc.
? Good overall knowledge of storage/warehousing/distribution operations.
? Good problem solving and decision making skills.
? Good computer skills with focus on SAP/ BI NetWeaver and Spreadsheets.
? Good planning and organizational skills. Using Microsoft Outlook Calendar or other planning tools as directed.
? Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
? 3-5 years of warehouse/distribution experience
? 3-5 years supervisory experience.
