We are seeking a Full Time Athletic Trainer to join our Orthopedics team! The Athletic Trainer’s primary function is the liaison between the patient, the physicians, the support staff, and all team members in the department. This position includes following the patient from the time of arrival to their time of departure and ensuring all the patient and physician’s needs are met to provide the best patient experience possible.

Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Responsible for following new patient care from check-in to check-out including:
    • Data collection and data entry (patient history).
    • Provide home exercise protocols for patients per the physician’s request.
    • Clinical examination, assessment, and diagnosis
    • Immediate and emergency care
    • Therapeutic intervention, treatment, rehabilitation, and reconditioning
    • Aiding physician in procedures as needed
    • Healthcare organization and administration
    • Education and consultation
  2. Maintain formal medical records for all athletes according to HIPAA and FERPA compliance as required by the employer, state, institution, and NWAC.
  3. Liaison between patient, medical assistant, physician or physician office staff.
  4. Cultivates effective partnerships, effectively collaborates with all practice providers (Physician, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant and other licensed allied health team-members).
  5. Provide assistance to medical assistants for stocking and cleaning of all clinic areas.
  6. Perform pre-visit planning to ensure all appropriate and necessary information is available (test results, referrals, lab results, etc.).
  7. Providing necessary back-up to other team members in the department or within the Clinic as necessary.
  8. Professional and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  9. Exceptional communication with patients, fellow team members, physicians, and physician support staff.
  10. Obtain vital signs.
  11. Suture or staple removal as necessary.
  12. Aiding physician in procedures as needed.
  13. Responsible for wound care and wound dressing.
  14. Responsible for maintaining clinic flow between all areas of the department.

Position Qualifications, but are not limited to:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  2. Board of Certification for Athletic Trainer (BOC) certified and possess or be in the process of acquiring licensure, certification or registration from the state.
  3. Casting experience preferred.
  4. Injection/Phlebotomy experience and certification preferred.
  5. Medical experience preferred.
  6. Current (Healthcare Provider [HCP] level) CPR certification.
  7. Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
  8. EPIC experience preferred.

This is a Full-time position working 40hrs/week from 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday - Friday.
