Our client is looking for an HR Manager to support approximately 80 employees in a Retail / Sports Enviornment that is continuing to grow. There may be some flexibility with regard to salary and will be contingent upon experience. Candidates do not necessarily need to be experienced at managing people. Any Generalist that has had responsibility doing everything in Human Resources in a retail environment would be considered.  This is an 'in office' position with flexibility to work remotely on Fridays. 

A degree in Human Resources or affiliated field is desired. We are looking for a high energy contributor to our Team.

POSITION JOB SUMMARY

The HR Manager supports the company leadership and staff with essential HR duties. The HR Manager administers and improves existing procedures. As the sole member of the HR Team this person provides excellent customer service while promoting positive employee relations.

The Human Resources Manager performs the internal day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, labor/employee relations, performance management, onboarding/off boarding, training, data reporting, policy implementation, affirmative action, payroll, and employment law compliance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Onboarding --- logistics, IT, organization, agenda, etc. Work to create a first rate candidate experience
  • Manage intern program from recruitment to onboard
  • Manage talent acquisition process, facilitate proactive outreaches to candidates, and help build RN brand to attract the best talent into the firm
  • Training –help formulate continued education programs for staff and coordinate trainings when they are identified
  • Annual/Mid-Year reviews – Support partners and leadership in preparation and facilitation
  • Control personnel announcement including new hires, departures, firm announcements, and manage employee recognition program
  • Benefits – more timely announcements, decision timeframes, communications/support, etc.
  • Self-starter –most knowledge will not be inherit, with this position the candidate will need to research with multiple resources to execute the following: payroll withholding rules for various jurisdictions; fiduciary compliance with employee benefits; Professional organization compliance for various jurisdictions; Implement policy (in conjunction with legal professional assistance when necessary) and advise on HR best practices in all areas of HR.
  • Perform benefit reconciliations to payroll deductions
  • UI Claims management
  • Payroll Tax Notice management (in conjunction with ADP payroll service provider)
  • Point of contact for ADP payroll running weekly and bi-monthly

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS/BA in Business or related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working in HR administering employee benefit plans; H&W, retirement, and time off programs
  • Minimum of two years of experience with administrator level privileges and proven experience creating new deductions, implementing new programs, using ADP
  • Experience working with a broad range of constituencies, including a highly diversified employee group
  • Prior experience writing own reports in ADP and acting as system administrator required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and database management.
  • Proven ability to maintain accurate records, meet deadlines, and exercise good judgment required
  • Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple projects/activities
  • Ability to maintain a positive and professional relationship with staff, managers, and outside vendors
  • Ability to work independently as well as on a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
